A Mission Born from Experience

Jerry’s journey to become a leading voice at bullying prevention began in his own childhood experiences born as eighth of nine children in Memphis, Tennessee. Jerry witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of bullied and the power advocacy through his brother Rosie. Green.
He has been targeted by teachers in the classroom, by coaches on the field, by fellow students in the hallways, and by other kids in the neighborhood. He has endured the sting of military leadership using rank as a weapon, the cold maneuvering of corporate America’s boardrooms, and the quiet but crushing tactics of district administrators.
Through it all, Jerry recognized a disturbing truth: bullying behaves like a drug. It’s addictive for the aggressor, destructive for the victim, and toxic to every environment it touches. Like a drug, it spreads — altering mindsets, warping relationships, and eroding trust.
In Bullying Is A Drug, the human brain becomes the centerpiece — visually mapped with the acronym B-U-L-L-Y-I-N-G-I-S-A-D-R-U-G — revealing how bullying rewires thinking, shapes emotions, and influences lifelong decisions. Each letter unlocks a key aspect of bullying’s impact, helping readers understand the deep, lasting effects it leaves on both victims and perpetrators.
This book invites readers to look back at their own experiences, identify how those moments shaped who they are today, and discover practical strategies to change the narrative. It’s a call-to-action for individuals, families, schools, and workplaces to finally break the cycle.
Whether you are a victim seeking understanding, a parent searching for tools, or a leader determined to build a safe culture, Jerry’s message is clear: we can end the high that bullies chase and replace it with respect, empathy, and accountability.
